Working Student d/f/m - Commercial Data Analysis

To start as soon as possible, part time (max. 20 hours per week), fixed term (6months)
Join a small, impact-driven team where your ideas and code can directly support commercial decisions. You will work closely with traders and analysts on the commercial side and collaborate with IT and market data colleagues on the technical side.
This role offers hands-on exposure to how data supports trading decisions and is ideal for students who enjoy working with data, improving processes and learning how analytics is applied in a commercial environment.
About the role
- Develop reports and dashboards that inform day-to-day decisions for traders and analysts
- Review and assess external and internal data sources, evaluating alternatives to improve reliability and insight
- Handle ad hoc analytical requests from the trading desk with pace and precision
- Troubleshoot data issues and resolve production bugs to keep processes running smoothly
- Review and benchmark internal versus external data sources to validate quality and consistency
- Support the gradual migration of legacy scripts into structured, Git-based repositories
- Clean up and maintain processes within your scope, improving documentation, structure and accessibility
Job requirements and experience
- Currently enrolled student with strong programming and analytical capabilities and a background in either:
- Quantitative analytics (e.g., mathematics, physics, econometrics)
- Business or economics
- Business information systems, or a related field combining business and technology
- Strong Python skills, with version control (e.g. Git) and databases (SQL)
- Interest in data-driven decision-making and commercial topics
- Structured and reliable way of working, with the ability to manage tasks independently and follow through to results
- Curiosity, willingness to learn and the confidence to ask questions when needed
Advantageous, but not essential
- Experience with Dremio, Databricks/ Apache Spark, Tableau
