PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION
The sustainability team at adidas creates sustainability intelligence and enablers to create transparency and inform decisions. This team tracks the environmental impact, gives guidance on the sustainable business plan implementation, and provides the long-term sustainability roadmap for the company.
Decarbonization is driving the next major transformation that will fundamentally change markets and companies. adidas will continue being in the front of this change. For further strengthening of this field, we are looking for a Climate and Decarbonization Manager to support the Sustainability Global Operations department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive the early evaluation and prioritization of decarb levers in all areas across the value chain, especially material and technology innovations.
- Support the development, creation, and analysis of performance indicators and monitor adidas environmental impact.
- Communicate results from environmental analysis to different teams across adidas, with focus on products, materials, and manufacturing technologies.
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of processes and tools for successful environmental analysis.
- Drive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement carbon reduction initiatives.
- Support the creation of the global Climate strategy and collaborate with other functions to achieve results and targets.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal and external partners with specific focus on suppliers and innovators, guiding them to provide credible environmental footprint data.
- Support external claims, reporting and communication.
- Develop guidance on critical topics in the area of carbon accounting by applying the latest research and know-how, collaborating with internal and external partners.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to collect, interpret, structure, and clearly communicate sustainability data
- Very good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Analytical, structured way of working as well as a high degree of initiative
- Strategic thinking and good process understanding.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team, solution-oriented approach, effective time management.
- Strong analytical and conceptional, communication, methodical and presentation skills.
REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree, preferably master’s degree in environmental science, material science or related sustainability fields.
- Minimum 3 years’ work experience in sustainability and impact management
- Detailed know-how in sustainability, ESG topics within the supply chain and performance evaluation for minimum 3 years.
