Focus area 1: Monetary and fiscal policy

Research in this area clarifies how monetary policy ensures price stability and interacts with fiscal policy, especially in the diverse Eurozone, supporting better policymaking and optimal policy design.

Focus area 2: Household/Firm Behaviour and Surveys

You will analyze households' and firms' behavior, finances, and expectations using Bundesbank survey microdata and other sources, investigating heterogeneity and possibly addressing survey methodology questions through empirical research.

Focus area 3: Macro-Finance

Research on macro-financial interactions studies how financial markets, institutions, and the real economy affect each other, helping to identify systemic risks and design macroprudential policies to mitigate risks and prevent financial crises.

Focus area 4: Banking and Finance

Research in this area analyses how banks and financial intermediaries allocate resources, manage risks, and adapt to regulation, digital innovation, climate, and geopolitics, supporting microprudential policy by improving assessments, supervision, stress-testing, and resolution strategies.

Focus area 5: Monetary Policy Implementation

Research in this area examines how the Eurosystem's operational framework and money market conditions influence banks' funding, liquidity, and lending to firms, using granular data to trace monetary policy transmission and inform framework and policy design.

Focus area 6: Economics of climate change, climate policy and nature capital

Research in this area assesses how climate change and climate policy impact price and financial stability, central bank policies, and frameworks, examining macroeconomic and financial effects, policy effectiveness, side effects, and the economics of natural capital and ecosystem services.
