Your tasks and responsibilities

The F-Series SmallSat Architecture is upgrading to an encrypted CCSDS Communication. A simulation of the CCSDS Boards in C++ is available and so is the complementary Ground segment.

This thesis heads for experimental translation of the space segment crypto functions onto a XILINX Kintex Ultrascale FPGA:

• Familiarize with the FLP2 command chain

• Familiarize with the available XILINX development board and interfaces to CPU Board and Gnd Segment

• Subsequently translate elements from the C++ implementation to FPGA modules for, TC-Chain, TM Chain, Crypto Control Management

• Thesis documentation (in MS-Word)

Desired skills and qualifications

• Enrolled student software engineering, aerospace engineering, or comparable graduation.

• Solid experienced in FPGA programming.

• Basic knowledge about satellite onboard computers and onboard software.

• Basic experience with satellite CCSDS/PUS command chain.

• High level of motivation for learning and improvement of skills, personal initiative and the ability for efficient timing.

• Team spirit and willingness to co-operate and working together in an international Company.

• Fluent English
