Tasks & responsibilities
- In your new role, you will be responsible for designing and preparing early clinical development plans, focusing on Phase I and II studies to establish proof of concept (POC) for novel therapies in cardiovascular and chronic kidney diseases.
- Furthermore, as the clinical lead, you will guide cross-functional teams including experts from clinical trial operations, biostatistics, biomarkers, and patient safety to ensure high-quality execution.
- In close collaboration with late-stage clinical development, regulatory, and commercial teams, you will define and align on scientifically sound and competitive POC criteria.
- Moreover, together with the Clinical Trial Lead, you will oversee the setup, conduct, and data readout of clinical trials, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- By partnering with cardiovascular research colleagues, you will contribute to building a robust and differentiated CV and CKD portfolio.
- In addition, your clinical expertise will be essential in evaluating external opportunities, supporting in-licensing decisions that strengthen the pipeline.
Additional Tasks for the Senior Role:
- You will act as the Innovation Team Lead for assigned assets, driving strategic decisions and fostering a culture of scientific excellence within your team.
- Furthermore, you will provide medical expertise in a cross-functional team on an indication level to keep the strategy at the forefront of innovation.
Requirements
- MD degree with several years of clinical and scientific experience in cardiology
- Track record in clinical drug development within the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent experience in academic clinical research is desired
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups
- Skilled in presenting scientific content and facilitating cross-functional discussions
- High level of initiative, strategic thinking, and team orientation
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Additional Requirements for the Senior Role:
- MD degree with long-standing clinical and scientific experience in cardiology
- Proven track record in clinical drug development within the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent experience in academic clinical research
- Strong Leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams
