Your Tasks

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
You will:
- Coordinate a diverse portfolio of skin microbiome research projects, ensuring scientific excellence and effective stakeholder communication across internal and external partners.
- Design, initiate, and drive innovative research activities focused on understanding and improving cosmetic-relevant skin conditions through microbiome science.
- Serve as a scientific expert within the organization, mentoring laboratory colleagues and supervising PhD students and junior researchers.
- Continuously monitor scientific and technological advances in microbiology, microbiome research, systems biology, and related life sciences to identify emerging opportunities and future innovation fields.
- Build, maintain, and expand a strong network of academic institutions, industrial partners, start-ups, and external experts to foster scientific collaboration and open innovation.
- Analyze, interpret, and translate complex microbiome datasets into meaningful biological insights and actionable research strategies.
- Communicate scientific findings and innovation concepts effectively to diverse audiences, ranging from technical experts to business stakeholders.
- Represent the company at scientific conferences, partnership meetings, and innovation forums.
Your Profile

A PhD in Microbiology;
first
postdoctoral experience is highly desirable. -
Deep
scientific expertise in microbiology and microbiome research
, including state-of-the-art methodologies and hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques, microbial cultivation, and microbial characterization. -
A proven
scientific track record
demonstrated through high-quality publications, innovative research contributions, and successful project delivery. -
Ideally, strong experience in the
analysis and interpretation of complex microbiome datasets
; proficiency in R, Python, bioinformatics workflows, or related analytical tools is an advantage. -
Strong
project management
skills and experience leading complex research initiatives and
mentoring
scientists or laboratory staff. - Ideally, experience collaborating with start-ups, technology providers, or external innovation partners.

Excellent communication, presentation, and
stakeholder management
skills. - A collaborative mindset, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a highly interdisciplinary environment.
- Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus.
