A Snapshot of your Day
Join our Reliability Modelling team and help shape the software, data, and statistical foundations behind the reliability of some of the world's largest wind turbines.
- In this role, you will develop and improve R-based software packages, user-facing applications, and data pipelines that support engineering and business decisions across Siemens Gamesa. Working closely with engineers, data providers, and end users, you will transform complex reliability and maintenance data into software apps that create real business value.
- Depending on your interests and strengths, you can deepen your expertise in software engineering, data engineering, or statistical modelling and machine learning. Your work will directly support efforts to improve turbine reliability, optimize maintenance strategies, and reduce costs across our fleet.
You will join a collaborative team with a strong feedback culture, giving you opportunities to rapidly grow your technical skills while contributing to the transition toward sustainable energy.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Develop and enhance software applications that support technical and business decision-making across the organization.
- Build and maintain R packages, data pipelines, and analytical tools based on R shiny.
- Collaborate closely with users to understand their needs, gather feedback, and continuously improve our software solutions.
- Improve the quality, accessibility, and scalability of our data and software ecosystem, enabling future innovations.
- Apply data-driven approaches to improve the reliability and maintenance of critical wind turbine components.
- Contribute directly to Siemens Energy's mission of advancing sustainable and reliable renewable energy generation.
What You Bring
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, or another highly quantitative field.
- You have experience with AI-assisted software development in R or another programming language, including version control, testing, and documentation.
- You have an eye for detail and the ability to structure, modularize and simplify complex technical problems.
- Your user-focused mindset allows you to translate requirements into practical technical solutions.
- You know and apply clean, maintainable, and collaborative software development practices.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- You have a passion for technology and a desire to contribute to the renewable energy transition.
