About the team
We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to strengthen the Global Finance Analytics Team and support SumUp's strategic initiatives. Your role will involve assisting the Global and European Finance Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team by constructing data models, generating reports and dashboards, and offering advanced analysis and actionable insights. You will make a significant contribution to the business by being part of an experienced data team and actively participating in the development of the analytics chapter.
What you'll do:
Create efficient data models that track financial performance and KPIs, from acquisition to churn, including metrics like recurring revenue, payback, lifetime value or customer acquisition cost with dbt
Develop advanced dashboards to facilitate self-service analytics for the Finance team and Sumup Leadership
Collaborate closely with Senior Leadership to develop strategies based on data-driven insights and qualitative analysis
Drive strategic data OKRs aligned with SumUp's business goals, such as small merchant segmentation and readout
Collaborate closely with Analytics Engineer to ensure that data is properly collected, stored, processed, and accessible for analytics
You'll be an excellent fit for this role if you possess:
Over 5 years of professional work experience in data analytics and in data model design, preferably with experience in dbt, and collaborative development using Git
Hands-on experience in developing advanced dashboards following industry best practices, preferably using Tableau
Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and techniques, such as regression, classification, and clustering
The capacity to examine Finance requirements across various functional areas and translate them into KPIs, insights, data models and dashboards
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, coupled with effective communication skills and a strategic mindset, enabling seamless collaboration with GTM leadership
Strong technical expertise, encompassing proficiency in Finance, stakeholder management, and data visualization tools
