At IU, we're searching for a dedicated Analytics Engineer to enrich our innovative team. You will have the crucial role of enhancing our data architectures and managing complex data solutions across platforms like GCP and AWS.

in full-time working from any of our offices in Germany or entirely remotely.

Your tasks

• Data Infrastructure Management: Develop and maintain our data warehouse with a focus on data modeling using Google BigQuery. Ensure scalable and efficient data solutions.
• Support and Consultation: Offer internal support and consultancy for business unit projects, ensuring secure and stable data operations.
• Technical Leadership: Serve as a key technical contact for data technology and modeling, providing innovative solutions and expert advice.
• Project Engagement: Participate in all project phases, from planning through to implementation, ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Trend Monitoring: Stay updated with the latest trends in data modeling to derive and implement best practice solutions for enhancing our data infrastructure.

Your Profile

• You hold a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundational understanding of theoretical and applied concepts.
• You bring several years of hands-on experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Modeling, or Data Engineering, showcasing your ability to tackle complex data challenges effectively.
• You possess deep expertise in constructing data models using dbt and have a track record of successfully transferring this knowledge through teaching or mentoring.
• You are highly proficient with Google BigQuery and possess practical experience with other data platforms such as AWS Redshift/RDS, making you versatile in handling various data ecosystems.
• You are well-versed in modern database technologies, including both relational and NoSQL databases.
• You have a solid understanding of ETL processes and tools, and are comfortable with software development fundamentals, preferably in Python.
• You are fluent in English, capable of conducting business and technical discussions proficiently. German language skills are a plus but not essential to the role.
