"This position can be based at any Siemens location in Germany (Munich, Erlangen) or Israel."

We are ONE Siemens

Siemens Digital Industries Operations Software  is a suite of integrated digital solutions to engineer, simulate and operate manufacturing operations across industries. Operations Software includes our product portfolio in manufacturing engineering (COMOS, Tecnomatix, NX CAM, ...) & production operations (Win CC, Scada, PCS 7 / neo, Opcenter, Insights Hub, ...). The portfolio helps organizations across many different industries to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance decision-making by providing real-time visibility and control across manufacturing and business processes.

Formula 1 cars, ships, mobile phones, space exploration vehicles, food & beverages, pharmaceuticals and many of the other objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and produced using our software.

We're redefining the industrial world using data and AI to make production: Agile, Adaptive, Autonomous. Eliminate productivity boundaries for today's and tomorrow's production operation. Join our mission to build the most comprehensive next generation AI-native Industrial Operations Software portfolio as the new operation system for industry in the age of AI. With us you have the chance to now apply AI to where it really matters: In the physical world of an industrial production and engineering of real things.

Position Overview:

The Industrial Data Fabric is the foundation of Siemens' AI Operations platform - the layer that connects heterogeneous industrial systems, contextualizes operational data, and makes it available to AI agents and applications in real time. We are looking for a strong engineering manager to define how the Data Fabric is built and drive delivery across a globally distributed R&D team. You will work closely with product managers, architects, software engineers, and data scientists to translate the vision into a scalable, high-quality implementation.  This is a people leadership role. You will directly manage a distributed R&D team across Israel and Germany and be responsible for hiring, performance, delivery, and team development.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive delivery: translate product roadmap into quarterly plans, sprint commitments, and measurable team output
  • Own and build the team: direct management of engineers globally - hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, career development, and day-to-day operations
  • Technical implementation of the Industrial Data Fabric: ingestion pipelines, storage, knowledge graph, semantic contextualization, governance & compliance.
  • Translating product requirements into concrete technical designs and work breakdowns that distributed teams can execute against. Define how things are built and why.
  • Ensuring design and implementation meet the NFRs defined by product management - latency, throughput, availability, security, data quality - and that the architecture can accommodate future requirements as they evolve.
  • Quality of the technical interface between Data Fabric and its consumers.
  • Define and enforce the software development life cycle and high engineering standards.
  • Ensuring customer engagements produce reusable platform building blocks, not bespoke one-offs.

Required Experience

  • Shipped data platform components in production environments.
  • Hands on experience working with semantic technologies: ontologies, knowledge graphs, RDF/OWL or property graphs (e.g., Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, or equivalent) running in production or services delivery.
  • Hands-on experience in cloud-native data infrastructure: streaming (Kafka, Pulsar or equivalent), Lakehouse patterns, orchestration, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) ; - Experience with edge computing and hybrid cloud/on-premises deployments
  • Designed and built integrations across heterogeneous industrial source systems: OT and IT, e.g. OPC UA, historians, PLM, SCADA, MES, PLCs
  • Direct people management: 5+ years managing engineering teams , including hiring performance management, career development, and cross-site coordination.

Candidate Profile

You are likely a strong fit if you:

  • Think in systems and trade-offs, not just solutions - you see how a data platform decision today constrains the AI layer tomorrow
  • Can hold a rigorous technical conversation with a data engineer and a meaningful strategic conversation with a product manager in the same afternoon
  • Have shipped industrial or operational software and know what "working in production" actually means in a factory environment
  • Push back constructively when requirements are technically unsound, and do it early
  • Document decisions, rationale, constraints - distributed teams cannot operate on undocumented judgment calls

Join our Digital World

At Siemens Digital Industries Operations Software, flexibility is how we work - hybrid by default, built on trust and autonomy. We build technology that shapes the real world. You'll grow through real projects, strong technical peers, and global mobility, backed by the scale and benefits of an industrial operations software leader. We're committed to equality and inclusion, and we hire based on merit, skills, and impact. Bring your curiosity and creativity and help us shape tomorrow!

Our Benefits & Rewards

The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training. Siemens offers a wide range of health and wellness benefits to employees.
