The Position
The Product Owner Data Quality role in the Data Management & Governance team drives the enterprise data quality vision, ensuring trusted, compliant, and AI- and automation-ready data across Boehringer Ingelheim.
You will lead the rollout and adoption of a standardized Data Quality framework and own the enterprise Data Quality platform (Ataccama).
In this senior product leadership role, you will play a key part in shaping scalable, standardized, and business-driven Data Quality capabilities that go beyond individual tools. Collaborating with stakeholders across the organization, you will ensure that Data Quality becomes a foundational element of our federated data organization.

Tasks & responsibilities
- In your new role, you will define and manage the product vision and roadmap for enterprise Data Quality capabilities, ensuring alignment with business priorities, domain data strategies, analytics, and AI use cases.
- You will design, implement, and scale a standardized Data Quality framework that includes dimensions, metrics, ownership models, and operating processes, while also establishing and enforcing enterprise standards, KPIs, and processes for monitoring, issue management, and remediation to ensure high-quality data across the organization.
- Taking ownership of the enterprise Data Quality platform (Ataccama) will be one of your key responsibilities, as you continuously enhance its scalability, standardization, and integration into the broader data ecosystem, including data platforms, pipelines, metadata, and analytics environments.
- Driving organizational adoption will be an essential part of your role, as you onboard data domains, enable Data Domain Owners and Data Stewards to take accountability for Data Quality, and embed Data Quality into data pipelines, analytics workflows, and automated or AI-driven use cases to ensure reliable and consistent outcomes.
- Managing and prioritizing the product backlog will be part of your daily work, as you define user stories and guide delivery in collaboration with data engineering and technical teams using Agile practices.
- You will ensure that all Data Quality initiatives align with data governance policies, standards, and regulatory requirements, maintaining compliance and consistency across the organization.
- Finally, you will define and track KPIs to measure Data Quality performance, platform adoption, and the overall business impact of your initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Long-term experience as Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in enterprise data, analytics, or BI environments
- Demonstrated experience in building or scaling enterprise data capabilities or frameworks (not limited to tool implementation)
- Hands-on experience implementing or managing enterprise data quality tools, preferably Ataccama or comparable platforms
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with strong backlog management and delivery coordination skills
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking with the ability to define measurable outcomes and prioritize based on business value
- Solid understanding of modern data ecosystems, including data platforms, pipelines, BI tools, and metadata management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to align multiple business domains and technical teams
