A Snapshot of Your Day
This role is being created as part of a reorganization within the Nacelles Operations at the Cuxhaven plant to lead the Supply Management function. The primary business aim is to establish dedicated leadership for the supply chain team, ensuring the efficient procurement and flow of materials to support wind turbine nacelle production.
To achieve this, the role is structured around three core areas: strategic leadership and team management, comprehensive supply chain operations, and continuous process improvement. This focus ensures alignment with operational goals, optimization of material availability, and effective management of supplier relationships and logistics processes.
Given the focus on leading an experienced team and managing complex operations, the ideal candidate will possess significant leadership experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment. A strong background in procurement, inventory control, and process optimization, coupled with proficiency in systems like SAP, will be essential for success.
How You'll Make an Impact

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of experienced supply chain professionals, setting clear performance objectives and fostering a collaborative environment and implement and enforce supply chain policies and strategies to achieve short-term and mid-term (1-3 years) operational results and support plant objectives
  • Manage the departmental budget, ensuring resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities and financial targets and influence and collaborate with peers and other department heads (e.g., Production, Warehouse Management) to ensure seamless, integrated logistics and supply chain operations
  • Oversee all procurement activities for materials and goods, ensuring timely delivery to meet production schedules; direct demand planning, inventory control, and material requirements planning (MRP) to optimize stock levels, minimize waste, and ensure material availability
  • Manage the inbound logistics process and foster collaboration with strategic procurement and supply quality management for mid- and long-term impact
  • Ensure all supply chain activities comply with international trade and customs regulations and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers, including performance evaluation, contract negotiation, and risk mitigation strategies; analyze supply chain performance data and KPIs to identify bottlenecks, forecast future needs, and report on operational effectiveness

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related engineering field; APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • Demonstrated expertise in supply chain management with strong supply chain acumen and extensive professional experience, preferably within large-scale industrial or manufacturing environments; strategic thinker with a proven ability to translate strategy into operational execution
  • Proficiency in procurement and supplier management, including effective supplier collaboration and performance management across the end-to-end supply chain
  • Hands-on proficiency in demand planning, inventory control, and material requirements planning (MRP), paired with strong process improvement and analytical skills and proficiency with SAP applications
  • Proven leadership experience managing experienced professionals and overseeing departmental budgets and operational targets; strong leadership, influencing, collaboration, accountability, and negotiation skills; experience working with global colleagues across a global supply chain
  • Fluent in English and German; Danish language skills are a plus; willingness to travel approximately once per month (mix of global and local travel)
