Proton Therapy Solutions is seeking an experienced Medical Physicist (f/m/d) Proton Therapy to support the development and validation of advanced technologies for our customers. As part of the Product Management & Validation team, you will work closely with product management, engineering, and service teams to drive innovations that enhance our proton therapy systems. Clinical experience with a proton therapy system is required. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on testing strategies, data analysis, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and dosimetric equipment management. Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of clinical software and hardware, including ARIA, Eclipse, proton therapy systems, quality assurance tools and software, and related analysis programs (e.g., MatLab), as well as standard dosimetric equipment
- Perform calibrations on all radiation therapy equipment and prepare comprehensive calibration reports
- Conduct radiation dosimetry characterization of new radiation treatment equipment and techniques
- Manage treatment-planning computer systems, including database maintenance and quality assurance programs
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs in compliance with applicable regulatory agencies and safety standards
- Support the development of new products and engineering initiatives through technical consulting, education, requirements definition, and test methodology development
- Provide onsite and remote technical support, with up to 50% travel as required
Your qualifications and experience:
- Ph.D. in Physics, Medical Physics, or a closely related discipline, or M.S. in the same fields with board certification
- Completion of a clinical residency or post-doctoral training with a minimum of two years of experience performing Radiation Therapy Physics in a clinical setting is mandatory
- Certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the American Board of Radiology or an equivalent certifying board
- Demonstrated competence in the theory and practice of radiation dosimetry
- Familiarity with current radiation safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Experience with proton therapy systems, preferably ProBeam or ProBeam 360
- Familiarity with product life cycle management within the medical industry
- Exposure to FLASH and FLASH research methodologies as well as working knowledge of imaging systems such as CBCT, CT, and related modalities is an advantage
- Business fluent in English, German language proficiency is an advantage
