CTC is Germany's leading centre for research and development in the field of design and production of large and complex CFRP components; with an international reputation as an expert for process development, series readiness and production optimisation.
CFRP prepregs need to be handled in a controlled environment - temperature and humidity - which is very energy intensive for large production facilities. The challenge of this position is to optimize energy efficiency of the system while adhering to temperature and humidity requirements. In this context you will work on creating the foundation to optimize climatized production environments which directly support sustainability in aviation production.
Your location
You work at the Stade location. Experience the special flair south of the Elbe in your free time, close to the cosmopolitan culture of Hamburg.

Your tasks and responsibilities
- Simulation & Modeling: Building a thermal-energetic simulation of our production hall and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) systems to map thermal loads and humidity dynamics.
- Data Validation: Benchmarking the simulation results against the real energy consumption and sensor data of our existing climate control systems.
- Optimization Analysis: Evaluating different technological options such as the implementation of climate chambers (room-in-room), local micro-climate conditioning, and optimized control strategies.
- Humidity Deep-Dive: Analyzing current system settings regarding dew point control, humidification, and dehumidification processes to identify energy-saving potentials.
- Presentation: Presenting your findings and proposed optimization concepts to stakeholders.
