A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Head of Governance & Digital Architecture for Grid Technologies you are the Strategist of the GT Digital Services organization. You are the architect of our digital future and the guardian of its successful execution. Your day will be spent defining the strategic Digital Services roadmap for the Grid Technologies business area, establishing the architecture roadmap for the Grid Technologies business area, that guides our technology decisions, overseeing the respective project portfolio and driving the critical change management initiatives that underpin our transformation. You take care that the GT Digital Services roadmap and Cybersecurity strategy is fully connected and contributes to the GT Business Area priorities but also well aligned with the global Siemens Energy Strategy and roadmap. As the Enterprise Architect for Grid Technologies, you are the key orchestrator who ensures that all parts of the GT Digital Services activities are aligned and delivering maximum value to the business.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • You will be responsible for creating the strategic framework that enables the entire digital organization to succeed.
  • Leading, inspiring, and transforming a high-performing team of experts in IT Architecture and Cyber Security, Data Enablement, and Change Management, as well as owning and continuously evolving the digital roadmap and IT governance framework for Grid Technologies, ensuring all activities are transparent and aligned with business objectives and SE standard.
  • Facilitating the strategic portfolio management process. Your team will create the transparency on project status, financials, and resource allocation required to support effective investment decisions made by business and Business Partner leaders.
  • Leading IT Architecture and Governance to define and enforce technology standards for Grid Technologies, while collaborating closely with the Grid Technologies Process Owners and Corporate Enterprise Architecture team to ensure alignment. You will identify and develop a tool that provide transparency on our GT processes, tools & applications as well as Data, aligning closely with the BS EQS team. You will establish a collaborative working mode with the Executive Units and corporate functions at GT and support them proactively in their digital journey. You also establish the necessary decision gremium along the EtE process (e.g. Solution Decision Committee) to decide on core topics (e.g. access rights, interfaces) and make sure we move decively and consequently.
  • Continuously bringing an "outside-in" perspective to the organization by benchmarking our performance against industry's best practices. You will identify and evaluate forward-thinking IT/OT technologies to ensure GT Digital Services is, and is perceived as, a best-in-class organization, as well as champion our transformation by leading the Change Management function, ensuring the successful adoption of new technologies and processes and fostering a digital-first mindset across the business. You will proactively support our path toward a leaner and more productive organization.
  • In Cybersecurity, your team will develop core competences to support the operational implementation of cybersecurity guidelines and requirements at all levels (products, processes, tools, embedded software etc), starting with ACP. You will support the cybersecurity community in increasing its skills.
  • Ability to deliver based on tight timelines due to urgent Business Area needs. Building on your widespread expertise and your openness to fill white spots, you contribute to the success of GT Digital Services and work very closely with the Head of Digital Services.


What You Bring

  • Longstanding senior IT leadership experience in IT strategy, IT architecture, portfolio management, and digital transformation; advantage: management consulting experience; leadership by influence in a highly matrixed organization; expert facilitation, negotiation, and consensus-building.
  • A master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Business Information Technology are a related field.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with productivity mindset; C suite level communication and presentation; translation of complex business strategies into coherent technology roadmaps and investment portfolios with maximized ROI.
  • Very strong experience as Enterprise Architect with exceptional strategic and communication skills. Broad and deep knowledge of IT architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAL, ITIL etc) and modern technology trends such as AI embedment; expert level knowledge of Project & Portfolio Management principles, tools, and methodologies incl. simulation.
  • Forward looking mindset and passion for emerging IT/OT technologies (e.g., Generative AI, Digital Twins, Edge Computing) with application in industrial contexts.
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance and Cybersecurity Frameworks as well as Change Management methodologies; deep expertise in IT governance, strategic planning, and financial management of a large, complex IT budget
  • Proven expertise in IT performance management and benchmarking; definition and measurement of KPIs demonstrating the value and effectiveness of a digital organization.
