Geo Auto Forward Deployed Engineering Manager
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience working in the Automotive industry, leading new products from inception to launch.
- 5 years of experience managing a technical, customer-facing team.
- Experience in software development (e.g., Java, C++, Python).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD.
- Experience with Maps products and services.
- Experience working with enterprise stakeholders (i.e., automakers).
- Experience collaborating effectively across time zones.
- Ability to deliver results in a complex, matrixed environment and drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to represent complex business or technical matters internally and externally.

The Geo Auto Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team collaborates extensively with an array of global partners leveraging Geo Automotive products to develop and integrate navigation solutions for their vehicles.
As an FDE Manager, you will lead a team of Technical Solutions Consultants to experience the journey of a product from its initial concept to its deployment on the road, you will develop their skills through regular coaching and role modeling collaboration with various teams specializing in fields such as navigation, advanced automotive sensors, high-end embedded computing, complex software and electrical architectures, sustainable transportation, and advanced manufacturing.

Responsibilities
- Lead global Technical Solutions Consultant (TSC) teams and automotive partners as they integrate Google Maps and Automotive Software Development Kits (SDK) across complex domains including Automotive OS platforms, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) components, and in-vehicle infotainment.
- Manage the automotive partner relationship and be responsible for driving issue resolutions including bugs, missing functionality, and feature requests.
- Develop, operate and improve processes that allow Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to expand across the automotive industry over multiple complex automotive products.
- Represent the requirements, constraints and road map of automotive partners to inform product development.
- Work closely with teams across the Geo Auto, Geo Developer, and Android organizations to ensure Google provides a uniform and complete automotive solution.
