The "ETYPE" Lighting Team looks for a

System Design Responsible - Lightings new development (f/m/d)

to join us in supporting and developing interior and exterior lighting solutions

Become part of the Team for Electrical Power & Lighting Systems (ETYPE) as responsible system designer for Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth.

The Lighting Team:

We are a transnational and international team located in Marignane (Fr) and Donauwörth (Ge) responsible for interior and exterior lighting of all Airbus Helicopter programs. Our mission includes sustaining the operative fleet with technical support and implementation of improvements as well as development of new lighting concepts, systems and equipment in collaboration with our suppliers. As part of the ETY Systems Community we make an effort to continuously improve our way of working in order to raise our focus for those activities most relevant to the customer, to Airbus and to our metier.

Your location:

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

We are looking for colleagues to join our team in Donauwörth in order to improve our capability to serve our customers and to further develop and implement our lighting strategy.

Mission:

The mission of the System Design Responsible in ETYPE is to define, develop, qualify/certify and support systems and equipment for the entire Airbus Helicopter fleet as well as helicopter development projects.

Our mentor-based onboarding system will support you to:

  • be in charge of the design of complex lighting systems or equipment in collaboration with other departments
  • manage a supplier relationship from the specification to the final industrialization of the equipment or system
  • provide proof of qualification and actively support the certification process
  • define and coordinate tests either in laboratories or on helicopter
  • support our assembly lines and our customers by taking charge of troubleshooting activities or by defining maintenance/ inspection operations.



In addition, you will be able to participate in research or innovation activities as well as help the department to develop its skills or improve the use of existing or new technologies.

As part of system engineering, ETYPE offers the environment to develop and grow depending on your motivations, your center of interest and your experience.

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • You are a certified technical engineer or you have a degree in the area of electro technics, air and spacecraft engineering, physics or an equivalent studies of engineering
  • You have several years of experience in system engineering, electrical systems or equivalent and you master system engineering methodology
  • You show leadership in and for your area of competence and you are able to manage difficult development environment with conflicting priorities.
  • You are comfortable to act as part of an empowered team and value collaboration and transparency
  • You are passionate about aeronautics
  • Knowledge in electrical, electronic or optical systems and their integration in aircrafts/ helicopters as well as testing would be expected
  • Experience in the area of network technologies or lighting solutions would be valuable
  • Fluent in English is mandatory, German and/or French would be beneficial
