About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled, dedicated and motivated Senior Accountant. In this expert role, you will link and strengthen our financial and internal control processes and systems across the organization to maintain compliance with policies and local regulations. This includes the close collaboration with our African country offices as well as the preparation of (consolidated) financial statements in 12 countries.
Your tasks
- Manage and coordinate internal control reviews and support year-end audits
- Analyze control deficiencies, recognize changes in the organization and shape the control environment
- Train and develop accounting capabilities within the organization, fostering a strong accounting community to ensure accurate and compliant accounting practices in Global South Country Offices
- Lead the consolidation processes and systems of Global South Country Offices
- Serve as the focal point for accounting-related audits and reporting
- Follow up on management letters and audit reports to implement improvements
- Close collaboration with group and project controlling to ensure alignment in finance processes
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in internal accounting of an international organisation or in an audit/advisory company
- Strong knowledge of Austrian & international accounting principles, practices, and standards
- Expertise in consolidation processes and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (BMD knowledge advantageous)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on mentality and excellent communication and presentation skills to facilitate accounting related workshops
- Experience in developing and implementing internal control frameworks
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
