Programme Officer (w/m/nb) with french skills

We are looking for a Programme Officer to join our We Can Work (WCW) international team.

The We Can Work programme will be running until 2030. It will use a system and mindset change approach to impact the lives of at least 1,000,000 young women and men with disabilities. The three main intervention pillars are:

Supporting young women and men with disabilities to become role model economic actors and bring about system change toward a more inclusive society.
Promoting disability inclusion as part of our partners strategies, portfolios and interventions, as well as among partner organisations and system actors.
Ensuring meaningful participation of young women and men with disabilities in advocating for an inclusive policy environment.

The Programme Officer will be responsible within the We Can Work (WCW) international team for coordinating reporting, compliance and other support for the WCW programme in three to four countries. The Programme Officer will be responsible for working closely with country management units and partners responsible for implementing the programme, consolidating up to date tracking of implementation in each country, coordinating support in the WCW International Team, reviewing contracts with partners, monitoring donor compliance, and consolidating reporting for the donor. in addition, the Programme Officer will need to respond to ad hoc requests from the donor, international team and country teams to support grant management.

Your tasks

  • Acting as the main focal point for the WCW project for between three and four WCW countries at the international level and coordinating with country level teams to monitor progress against the planned activities and LFTW/donor compliance requirements
  • Consolidating country level input to donor reports on a monthly basis. This will include planning reporting timelines, reviewing material, providing feedback, as well as editing and drafting to produce reports to a standard that can be submitted to the donor.
  • Managing the partnership with the country office/key partners in each country of focus, including managing contracts, monitoring capacity strengthening, completing administrative tasks (such as supporting due diligence) and helping to address any safeguarding, security, safety or transparency concerns.
  • Representing the project in internal meetings, coordinating within the WCW team to ensure activities are correctly prioritised per country
  • Using the WCW and LFTW monitoring tools and templates for the project.
  • Collecting feedback and support the development of better systems and tools to help monitor and report against the project
  • Undertaking programme visits to support training events

Your profile

  • Experience in programme and/or project coordination, ideally within an INGO or in an international setting
  • Experience with grant management, ideally with grants from institutional donors (i.e. FCDO, USAID, GIZ) and in an international environment
  • Strong experience with project reporting, in particular finalizing donor reports to a high standard of quality
  • Familiarity with project management concepts and tools
  • Strong communication, liaison and partnership skills, ideally with experience of working in a multi-national environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as to approach tasks independently, with excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
  • Excellent English skills (in particular for drafting reports) and fluent French skills are a must
